Crystal Loftus

Ms. Loftus has been sharing her love of mathematics with Milwaukee students for 10 years. She began her teaching career as a 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th-grade math teacher at St. Catherine School in Milwaukee, WI, where she also coached the U-8 soccer team. She continued her work in the Milwaukee Archdiocese when she became a 7th-grade teacher at St. Rafael School. At St. Rafael, Ms. Loftus was integral in updating the school’s mascot and logo, as well as advising Student Council, and coaching volleyball and softball.

Ms. Loftus became a middle school math teacher at Carmen Schools of Science and Technology- Northwest Campus, a year after it was opened. Ms. Loftus helped build the middle school math department at Carmen Northwest and coached the Carmen softball team.

In 2016, Ms. Loftus was nominated and accepted as a NAATE (National Academy of Advanced Teacher Education) teacher fellow. The NAATE teacher fellow program brings top tier teachers, from schools across the country, together at Yale University’s School of Management for a rigorous case-based program examining real world problems of daily education practice. Ms. Loftus will complete her NAATE teacher fellowship in the summer of 2017.

Crystal Loftus earned a bachelor’s degree at Marquette University, as well as a teaching certification from Cardinal Stritch University’s Urban Education Program. She came on board as a 9th-grade math teacher for Augustine Prep in June of 2017.
