Johnathan Powell
Mr. Powell has been teaching at Augustine Prep for the past four years. He was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Over the course of his teenage and early young adult years, he had the opportunity of working with nearly every age group ranging from Kindergarten to Seniors in High School. Some highlights of his work experiences include serving as a Middle School Summer School teacher as part of the Center for Urban Teaching Summer School Program and serving as a 3rd and 5th grade paraprofessional at a private school on Milwaukee’s North Side. Right before transitioning to Aug Prep, Mr. Powell worked with High school students as an Academic interventionist. In this position, he saw firsthand how vital providing students with a quality Middle School education could be for their future success. Being actively involved in church ministries helped Mr. Powell develop a heart for teaching the Bible to students of all ages. In 2018, Mr. Powell graduated from The University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee with a degree in History. He is currently enrolled in Seminary to earn a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies.
