Lauren Van Krey
Ms. Van Krey first moved to Milwaukee in 2010 to attend Mount Mary College, graduating with a BA in Art Therapy. After college, Ms. Van Krey spent a year in Pattaya, Thailand serving at-risk youth focused on educational development and spiritual discipleship. Returning to Milwaukee, she worked as a Residential Counselor, primarily working with adolescent females within a local behavior health program. She then moved from the behavioral health field in pursuit of opening an art studio and community space with other like-minded artists to offer creative opportunities to the community near her home.
In her experience over the last several years, Ms. Van Krey identified her desire to invest intentionally in young lives has proven to be a critical cause and worthy investment. The 21-22 school year will be her third academic year working at St. Augustine Prep. She loves being a part of a school committed to valuing each individual student, encouraging them to own their education, and contributing to their class, their families, and beyond; doing so with academic rigour, physical/mental focus, and fundamental faith foundation in Jesus Christ.
In her free time, Ms. Van Krey loves to learn and invest in cross-cultural opportunities and relationships, specifically around music, art, and faith. She also loves to spend time with family and friends, reading, camping, swimming, and staying active outdoors, and finds great purpose and joy in serving her church family and community.
