Zachary Petzel

Mr. Petzel began his teaching career as a math teacher at HOPE Christian High School on the north side of Milwaukee, where he worked for 3 years. He taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Engineering, and started the school’s first STEM club. 

Mr. Petzel joined the Aug Prep team in 2019 as a high school math teacher. Currently, he teaches Algebra 2 in addition to being the assistant coach of the varsity boys volleyball team. Mr. Petzel has a passion for helping students learn difficult concepts and skills in math, while showing them how math helps us to become better problem-solvers.

Mr. Petzel has earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a master’s degree in Leadership and Innovation from Wisconsin Lutheran College. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, fishing, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family.
