John Albrightson
John (Johnny) Albrightson joined Aug Prep in the summer of 2024 as a high school teaching fellow, working primarily in the high school social studies department. A life-long Milwaukee native, Johnny grew up in Brown Deer and attended St. Eugene School in Fox Point and Brown Deer High School. In 2024, Johnny graduated summa cum laude from Marquette University with a BA in Political Science.
As a kid, Johnny swam on local recreation department swim teams and on his high school swim team. During college, Johnny led and coached the Jr. Knights Swim Team, a youth swim team hosted by the Nicolet Recreation Department and the Schroeder YMCA swim team. It was through his connections at Schroeder that Johnny was first introduced to Aug Prep. In addition to coaching, Johnny has also worked as a lifeguard, aquatics director, writing tutor, and lifeguard instructor.
Johnny is excited to be a part of Aug Prep and looks forward to helping students grow in their understanding and appreciation of social studies. Johnny believes the purpose of education is not merely to prepare students for future career success, but to make students better, more well-rounded individuals, citizens, and followers of Christ. Johnny sees social studies, in particular, as a great subject to teach students the skills and knowledge necessary to be active and intelligent members of society. In his spare time, Johnny loves to read, write, exercise, go for walks, golf, watch movies, and spend time with his family. He is a member of St. Eugene Congregation in Fox Point.
