Amanda Haugen
Mrs. Haugen is a veteran educator with over 20 years of urban education experience, ranging from elementary and secondary education, to migrant/ESL and adult education. She earned her degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior (the first in her family to attend college!). Mrs. Haugen believes in a team approach to teaching: making authentic connections with families and students to build on strengths and support areas of growth - we're all partners in helping EVERY student succeed! While Mrs. Haugen has had experience teaching grade levels from kindergarten through 8th grade, she can attest that middle schoolers are her favorite! Guiding students through the rigor of preparations for high school, as well as navigating the social and emotional challenges of middle school, are tasks that Mrs. Haugen embraces. She takes pride in building students' love for literature, and in growing genuine readers and writers who are fully equipped for high school and beyond.
