Sarah Markwald
Mrs. Markwald embarked on her teaching career at Resurrection Catholic Academy in Milwaukee where she was blessed to share her love of God and passion for teaching visual arts to students from kindergarten through eighth-grade. In 2001, she transitioned to University School of Milwaukee to teach middle school art and collaborated with colleagues across disciplines to promote the arts and foster students’ individual artistic expression.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Markwald has been actively engaged with the Milwaukee Community through various artistic endeavors. She was able to share student work with our local community thanks to her creative partnerships with organizations like Empty Bowls Milwaukee, Latino Arts Inc. Gallery, Artists Working in Education (A.W.E.), and the Joy Engine (previously Black Box Fund), to mention a few.
Mrs. Markwald earned a Bachelor's degree in Art and Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire and holds a Masters in Visual Studies from Cardinal Stritch University. She is a certified TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) and earned the Wright Technology Award and Distinguished Faculty Award at her former school.
Mrs. Markwald is thrilled to embark on this new journey at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy and looks forward to leading with love while blending her faith and her passion for the arts!
