Fernanda De Leon
Ms. De Leon is a special education specialist who provides space for young scholars to advocate for themselves and believe in their own power, while guiding them with tools to improve their social-emotional emotions skills. This will be her 8th year going into education. Her first 4 years, Ms. De Leon grew as an educator at Mitchell Elementary where she did her years of service with City Year, a paraprofessional, and student teaching. Ms. De Leon discovered her passion for special education after her student year where she wanted to get a deeper knowledge of the laws of special education. Ms. De Leon was born and raised in the southside of Milwaukee. She attended Bay View High School, and went to three different colleges before settling down at Alverno College, and earning her Bachelors of Science in Education. She is currently earning her Masters at Alverno for Cross-Categorial Special Education K-12. Outside her personal time, Ms. De Leon's favorite hobby is going to concerts on her own, or spending time at home with her books.
